The vehicle which created the mid-size SUV segment in India is about to arrive in its latest avatar on our shores
The soon-to-arrive 2025 Renault Duster has finally been unveiled. Note that the international model has already been launched in many parts of the world. However, the French carmaker took the wraps off the India-bound model in South Africa only recently. Duster led to the creation of the mid-size SUV segment in India back in 2012. It remained in production for 10 years and it was finally discontinued in 2022. At the moment, this segment is one of the most thriving and rapidly expanding spaces in our market. The launch of the latest Duster could contribute immensely to that going forward.
India-Bound 2025 Renault Duster Unveiled
This video stems from The Citizen News on YouTube. The visuals capture the muscular SUV in the flesh. At the front, it bears the Renault lettering on the grille flanked by tri-arrow LED DRLs integrated inside the LED headlamps, a rugged bumper with fog lamps on either side. I really like the upright bonnet which lends it a butch stance. On the sides, there are pronounced wheel arches and side body cladding along with elegant alloy wheels, black side pillars and functional roof rails. At the rear, the new Duster gets a unique roof-mounted spoiler, a shark fin antenna, a sturdy bumper and taillamps on the extreme edges of the bootlid.
Interior and Features
We even get a clear picture of what the cabin of the India-bound 2025 Renault Duster will look like. There is a chunky steering wheel with multimedia controls, a digital instrument cluster, a free-standing touchscreen infotainment display, tri-arrow-styled AC vents, a textured dashboard, physical buttons for HVAC, rotary drive mode selector, USB charging, a spacious cabin, hexagonal steering wheel, and much more. This video showcases an all-black interior which oozes sportiness and will be the preferred choice for young buyers. Note that the SUV was also spied in India with a heavy camouflage and ADAS kit.
Under its hood, there are multiple powertrain options in the international markets. However, it will be interesting to see which mill Renault chooses to bring to its Indian customers. We might get the 1.3-litre turbo petrol mill, a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine or an updated 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine from the Magnite. Pairing with these engines will be manual and automatic transmissions. However, the biggest talking point would be the 4WD configuration. If the French car marque offers it, the Duster will definitely be able to distinguish itself from the crowd. We shall keep an eye out for more details as and when they surface.
