MG Windsor EV has been launched with the industry-first BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) to make it more accessible to a wider range of customers.
The first ownership review of the new MG Windsor EV is out as we take a look at what the owner has to say. Windsor EV is the third electric car from MG in India after ZS EV and Comet EV. Clearly, the JSW-owned British car marque is going all-out for electric cars. However, the biggest talking point about the Windsor EV is its BaaS. MG offers the vehicle at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom without the battery. Buyers can rent the battery at the 3.5 per km and pay the amount, depending on usage, to MG monthly. Hence, the initial financial burden is taken off the shoulders of the buyers. Let us see what the owner has to say about it.
MG Windsor EV First Ownership Review
The details of this case stem from MotorByte on YouTube. The host interacts with the enthusiastic owner. It is clear in the beginning that the owner is mighty impressed by his latest purchase. He opted to buy the EV with the battery upfront after calculating the running costs as per his usage. What is commendable is that MG is giving unlimited kilometres warranty on the battery for the first owner. Hence, he talks about the peace of mind regarding the need to replace the battery at a later stage. Apart from that, he is in love with the amount of space inside the cabin along with the comfort. Having owned a Volvo in the past, he claims that no mass market car gives this much comfort to the passengers.
During the drive, the vlogger is in the driver’s seat, while he sits in the rear. There, he showcases the 135-degree reclining seats. That is a highlight of the cabin. In addition to that, there is a ginormous 15-inch touchscreen infotainment display which has loads of features, connected tech and connectivity. To lend a premium touch to the cabin, the MG Windsor EV gets wooden inlays on the dashboard along with concealed AC vents. Moreover, MG is offering free DC public charging for 1 year for those who buy it before December 31. The owner claims that he is able to squeeze out 310 km of range. All in all, the owner of this EV is excited about how MG Windsor EV and BaaS can disrupt the industry.
