Installing aftermarket alloy wheels is the easiest way to alter the appearance of any vehicle
Here are the first two Mahindra Thar Roxx SUVs with colossal aftermarket alloys. Thar Roxx is the 5-door iteration of the regular Thar. However, the Indian auto giant has changed it thoroughly in terms of aesthetics, features, powertrains and even the platform. In essence, the enhanced practicality doesn’t come at the cost of off-roading prowess or performance. That is the reason why it became so popular and bagged a whopping 1.76 lakh bookings within the first hour. For now, let us stick to the specifics of this latest occurrence.
Mahindra Thar Roxx with Aftermarket Alloys
The details of this case emerge from Dayakaran vlogs on YouTube. The host is at this huge showroom for alloy wheels called Creative Wheels. It has alloy wheels for just about any car. On this occasion, the vlogger details two Mahindra Thar Roxx SUVs. In the first one, the owner decided to go for ginormous 22-inch chrome alloy wheels. To install these, a small portion of the bumper had to be cut out. That is necessary to ensure that the tyre doesn’t get in contact with the bumper or fender. As a matter of fact, this SUV is also slightly lifted to fit the alloy wheel comfortably.
On the other hand, the second Thar Roxx possesses 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Note that the stock Thar Roxx comes with 18- and 19-inch wheels. Hence, 20-inchers almost retain the ride quality of the stock Thar Roxx. Apart from that, both SUVs get off-roading-focused tyres. These enhance the grip over any surface, particularly when you are off the tarmac. Talking to the owners of these rugged vehicles reveals that they have a wide range of options to choose from. Finally, they are satisfied with their choice.
My View
Installing aftermarket alloy wheels is gaining more prominence among car owners lately. This is particularly common among SUV owners. Furthermore, off-roading vehicles like the Thar and Jimny are the most common products to get this customization. However, you must know that these oversized wheels are illegal in our country. You could get in trouble with the authorities. Also, there is a compromise in terms of mileage, performance and ride quality if you opt for too large alloys. Hence, you need to take these aspects into consideration before deciding to go for them.
