Tata Motors keeps churning out 5-star safety-rated vehicles and the Curvv coupe SUV is the latest addition to that impressive list
Tata Curvv becomes the next 5-star safety-rated vehicle at the Bharat NCAP. Indian consumers have become immensely safety-conscious in the last few years. They often take into equation the safety ratings of a car prior to making the purchase decision. In fact, it is one of the major reasons contributing to the final decision regarding which vehicle to buy. As a result, carmakers have invested time and resources into making sure that their vehicles boast high safety ratings. However, Tata Motors has been doing this for the longest time.
Tata Curvv Bharat NCAP Safety Rating
The 1715 kg coupe SUV secured 29.50 points out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 43.66 points out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection (COP). Both of these resulted in 5 stars in each category. The model on test had loads of standard safety features like 6 airbags, seat belt pre-tensioner, belt load-limiter, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ESC, Pedestrian Protection and Seat Belt Reminder for all seats. In the AOP section, the coupe SUV scored 14.65 points out of 16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and 14.85 points out of 16 in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test.
On the other hand, in the COP category, it bagged 22.66 points out of 24 in the Dynamic Score, 12 points out of 12 in the CRS Installation Score and 9 points out of 13 in the Vehicle Assessment Score. The child dummies represented an 18-month-old child and a 3-year-old child. The position of the CRS was rearward facing. All these factors inform a full 5-star safety rating both for the AOP and COP divisions. With this, the Tata Curvv adds to the already impressive lineup of Tata SUVs with a similar score.
