It is not every day that we see top actors retire after doing dozens of movies to pursue another passion
Prominent actor Ajith Kumar is rumoured to be planning his retirement as he wishes to reacquaint with his innate passion for car racing. As a matter of fact, we might soon see him participate in the European GT4 Championship. Ajith predominantly works in Tamil cinema. In fact, he has acted in over 61 movies throughout his career. For his incredible performances, he has even bagged prestigious accolades including the likes of 4 Vijay Awards, 3 Cinema Express Awards, 3 Filmfare Awards South and 3 Tamil Nadu State Film Awards. For now, let us take a look at the details of this latest case.
Ajith Kumar to Pursue Car Racing?
You might not know but Ajith had already started his career in auto racing back in the early 2000s. In fact, he has participated in many international races and Formula Championships. A recent social media post from the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) reads, “Indian Film Actor, Ajith is keen on making a comeback to motor racing. He is planning on participating in the European GT4 championship in 2025. Negotiations are on with Teams based in the UK, Europe & Middle East. Sponsors too are excited and keen on him coming on board.” This is a clear indication that the actor is trying for it.
If this goes through, his latest movie Good Bad Ugly will be his last. For the uninitiated, Ajith Kumar was a part of the car racing circuit as early as 2002. At the time, he participated in the Formula Maruti Indian Championships in 2002 and finished a respectable 4th. After signing a contract with manager Akbar Ebrahim in 2003, Ajith participated in the inaugural Formula BMW Asia Championship. He successfully completed the season with a 12th-place finish. Then he went on a hiatus of around 6 years from racing before participating in the FIA Formula Two Championship in 2010. Over the years, he has completed many circuits in India including Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi.

While that is necessary, it is also crucial to keep your hobbies active and alive. If you get a chance to take that leap of faith, you should do it for your happiness and contentment. Let this be a relevant example of how it is never too late to chase your passion. I shall keep an eye out for how things pan out for the 53-year-old actor.
