Indian roads can be full of surprises but even knowing that can’t prepare us for what we see here.
In a rather bizarre turn of events, a pillion on a Honda Activa was spotted carrying a crocodile on his lap. This is as strange as it gets. We know that Indian roads are notorious for being unpredictable. That is also the reason why they are considered some of the most dangerous on the planet. While that has a lot to do with people flouting traffic regulations altogether, other instances like this latest case add to the complexity of the situation. For now, let us delve deep into the specifics of this case.
Honda Activa Pillion Carries Crocodile
The visuals capture the entire saga quite vividly. Someone travelling behind this Honda Activa made a video. The pillion on the Activa is wearing an “Im A Vadodara” T-shirt, signifying that this incident occurred somewhere in Vadodara, Gujarat. The rider and pillion are not wearing helmets, to start with. Secondly, there is a large crocodile on the lap of the pillion. This is extremely rare and ultra-perilous. Sure, the mouth of the reptile is taped to prevent it from causing injury to anyone.
I would guess that this must be a part of a rescue mission. The people from the forest department often have to deal with such issues. In any case, the scooter is plying on a public road. Now it might be an everyday affair for the rescuers, but this could easily scare fellow road users. In fact, even the man could drop the reptile if it regains consciousness suddenly. Therefore, it goes without saying that things could turn ugly in a fraction of a second. That is what makes this instance almost stupid and dangerous.
Our View
To rescue such creatures, the personnel often use tranquillizers. Still, they should carry it around in a vehicle and not on a two-wheeler. If the animal comes to its senses and tries to escape the person, it could cause accidents on the road. Not only that, even the rescuer himself is in danger as he is not wearing any protective equipment. I wish that we don’t encounter more such cases on our roads. Also, I hope that no one got injured or scared seeing this on the road while the rescuers were on their way to release the reptile in its natural habitat.
