Volkwagen has launched a special edition of the Vento sedan to keep customers interested in the car till the all-new Vento is launched in the market later in 2014. Like many ‘special edition’ cars launched in India, the Volkswagen Vento Preferred Edition does not get any mechanical changes, instead it gets some visual tweak on the outside and some equipment.
The Volkswagen Vento has taken a big hit from the launch of the Honda City and the subsequent measures taken by Hyundai to protect the Verna. Meanwhile the launch of the Fiat Linea facelift has also taken the spotkight away from the Vento, and the competition is only going to get tougher.
Price
TBA. We will let you know when VW releases more details.
What’s New?
As you can see from the images above, the Vento Preferred Edition gets:
- New alloy wheel design
- Side door mouldings
- Chrome strips on the side-window sills
- Door visors
- Boot spoiler
- ‘Preferred’ badging
- Navigation screen which doubles up as rear-view camera screen
The big offer though is the addition of free insurance for the first year and 4-years of free roadside assistance that is being offered with the Vento Preferred Edition. This, according to the final price of the car, seems like a very good offer.
Engine options on the Ventro Preferred Edition remain the same as the standard variants, it is powered either by 1.6-litre petrol or a 1.6-litre diesel engine.
