CNG powertrain is gaining traction among car buyers and companies have started to offer factory-fitted CNG cylinders on their hot-selling models.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios becomes the latest car model to utilize the dual-cylinder CNG technology. CNG is the preferred choice for city dwellers who are looking for an alternative to petrol and diesel powertrains. EVs are just too expensive at the moment and the initial prices are too high. Even if you buy one, the lack of charging infrastructure will surely be an issue. Hence, CNG emerges as a great technology because it doesn’t command a huge premium over the ICE version, the infrastructure in cities is adequate and cars are driven on CNG and petrol. Let us take a look at the details of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios with dual-cylinder CNG mill.

Our View
CNG is the best alternative to ICE cars at the moment. The technology has been around for a long time now. However, the only issue with it up until now was that it ate too much boot space due to the large cylinder. But Hyundai has fixed that by using a dual-cylinder setup. This ensures that there is enough luggage space for families to travel on weekend trips because the cylinders are neatly accommodated under the boot floor. That was impossible with one large cylinder. Let us see how well the customers embrace the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios dual-cylinder CNG trim.
