Overspeeding remains one of the top reasons for car crashes claiming the lives of thousands each year.
In a rather tragic turn of events, a Mercedes-Benz E-Class of a Minister’s son was involved in a horrific high-speed crash on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. Mercedes makes some of the safest cars in the world. Also, these cars are performance-focused with incredibly sporty driving dynamics. People preferring an engaging driving experience often buy these cars. The Merc in this case was an AMG trim which is the performance division of the German carmaker. Let us take a look at the details of this case here.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class in High-Speed Crash
The details of this case emerge from Prateek Singh on YouTube. This channel often features content around car crashes and the outcome of how the cars performed. As per the information in this video, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class AMG was being driven by the son of the UP Cabinet Minister. His wife was also travelling in the passenger seat. While coming towards Lucknow on the Expressway, the vehicle suddenly lost control due to the slippery road surface and ended up colliding with the divider.
Looking at the condition of the vehicle, it becomes clear that this is a case of extremely high-speed driving. The entire front section including the engine has come out of its position and there is an empty space. In fact, the components of the engine have splattered all over the road. Even the wheels have come off. What I find the most impressive about this is that beyond the A-pillars, the vehicle is in great condition. Thankfully, the couple escaped without any major injuries and was being treated at a nearby hospital for minor injuries. That is nothing short of a miracle. The airbags and the build quality of the Mercedes were responsible for ensuring that this accident didn’t take a fatal turn.
Our View
Overspeeding is the single biggest reason for car crashes. In fact, I have reported countless accidents of cars due to flouting these rules and regulations. It is high time we start respecting and following traffic protocols. Speed limits are there for a reason. Even in this case, had the driver been driving within the speed limit, he would’ve either been able to control the car or the damage would’ve been minimized. I urge our readers to follow these rules and encourage everyone around to do the same. If you find anyone flouting the rules, you should report them to the authorities so that appropriate action can be taken against them. Let us pledge to be responsible road users.
