Note that Pankaj Tripathi owns the older model of the Tata Nexon EV. It used to be available in two variants – Prime and Max. The former boasted a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery with a range of 312 km, while the latter had a larger 40.5 kWh battery with a range of 453 km on a single charge. Our View
I feel that if celebrities start going for EVs, people might be encouraged as well. We know that EVs have numerous challenges including range anxiety, high initial costs and a lack of charging infrastructure. Hence, the government is trying to support the buyers by offering heavy incentives. These schemes will only be there until the EVs become mass-market products and household names. The EV sales are rising exponentially in India year-on-year. Celebrities opting for EVs is a positive sign for the industry as well. Let us keep an eye out for more such cases.
