Skoda Auto Volkswagen India is prepping a slew of new products, as well as updates to the existing models to expand its portfolio. Here’s a look at all the upcoming models
Since the Czech carmaker is planning an onslaught of new products and updates for existing vehicles, I am compiling a list of the upcoming Skoda cars in India. Ever since the heavily localized MQB A0 IN platform started underpinning cars in India including Kushaq and Slavia, the market share of Skoda has risen exponentially. In fact, these two vehicles made India Skoda’s biggest market outside Europe. That is a testament to how well people received these cars. Apart from that, there are many niche automobiles like the Kodiaq and Superb which are also about to get new iterations. Let us dive into the details of these cars in this post.
Upcoming Skoda Cars in India
Skoda Compact SUV
Let us commence this post with the compact SUV. We know that compact SUV is one of the most fierce categories in India. It houses vehicles from just about every major carmaker in the country. Now, Skoda also wants to grab a chunk of this space. The compact SUV will utilize the MQB A0 IN platform which also underpins the larger Kushaq. In addition to that, it will borrow the powertrain as well. Hence, we will see it with a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol mill generating a familiar 115 PS and 178 Nm of peak power and torque. Complimenting this engine will be manual and automatic transmissions. We have seen the spy shots of the test mule wrapped under a thick camouflage on multiple occasions. While the details are not vivid, I expect it to carry the vertical slats for the grille and a ‘Modern Solid’ design language, just like other Skoda products. It will be interesting to see if it also gets access to the larger 1.5-litre turbo petrol mill which makes 150 PS and 250 Nm of peak power and torque in Kushaq.

Skoda Kushaq Facelift
Staying with SUVs, we will also witness an updated iteration of the Skoda Kushaq. It is a mid-size SUV which rivals the mighty Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and the like in our market. We know that this is a highly competitive space. Hence, carmakers need to be on top of their game to stay relevant. As a result, the Czech car marque will launch a facelift version of the Kushaq. Among aesthetic alterations, we might see the addition of a few new amenities inside the cabin including ADAS active safety tech and a 360-degree camera. I don’t suppose there will be any changes to the powertrains on offer.

Expected Launch | Early 2025 |
Expected Price | Rs 11 lakh – Rs 19 lakh |
Skoda Slavia Facelift
The Skoda Slavia is the next mass-market product from the Czech auto giant in our market. It is a premium mid-size sedan which rivals the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and VW Virtus. With the popularity of SUVs, sedan sales have suffered in the last few years. Still, cars like the Slavia have been able to hold this space. Just like the Kushaq, it will bear similar updates to pamper its customers and challenge the Verna. Hence, we will see the ADAS and 360-degree camera in addition to the exterior styling update with the Skoda Slavia too. Interestingly, whispers are in the air about Skoda bringing back the TDI diesel mill.

New-Gen Skoda Kodiaq
Now the latest Skoda Kodiaq was unveiled in October last year for the international markets. These niche CBU products always take time to reach India. However, we can expect it to make it to our shores by as early as the festive season this year. It bears tons of exterior and interior changes in comparison to the current model. In fact, the new Kodiaq will be 61 mm longer than the existing model. On top of that, in the international markets, it comes with multiple powertrain options including a 1.5-litre TSI PHEV, a 1.5-litre TSI mHEV, a 2.0-litre TSI and a 2.0-litre TDI. The power and torque figures range from 150 hp / 250 Nm to 204 hp / 400 Nm. Also, it gets 2WD or 4WD configurations to cater to different sets of customers. It shall be interesting to see which engine-gearbox combination makes it to our market.

Engine | 1.5L (P) – 2.0L (D) |
Power | 150 hp – 204 hp |
Torque | 250 Nm – 400 Nm |
Transmission | 6MT / AT / 7DCT |
Expected Launch | Festive Season 2024 |
Expected Price | Rs 45 lakh – Rs 55 lakh |
Skoda Superb
Now, this is an interesting product on this list of the upcoming Skoda cars in India. We already received the new CBU version of the Skoda Superb in India a few months ago. However, it was not the latest generation model. Hence, it leaves room for that model to come to India in the future. In fact, since the latest Kodiaq is also slated for India launch, we might see the Superb arriving around that time. However, what intrigues me is the pricing. At present, the existing model retails in a single fully-loaded trim for a jaw-dropping Rs 54 lakh, ex-showroom. The new-gen iteration will most likely bear a premium over these prices. Also, the existing model is limited to 100 units. I believe a similar strategy will be applied for the next-gen model too, making it a niche premium luxury sedan.
Specs (exp.) | New Skoda Superb |
Engine | 2.0-litre Turbo Petrol |
Power | 190 hp |
Torque | 320 Nm |
Transmission | 7DCT |
Expected Launch | Late 2024 or Early 2025 |
Expected Price | Rs 55 lakh – Rs 60 lakh |
Skoda Octavia
Next up, we have the Skoda Octavia. This is a nameplate which has enjoyed decent success in the Indian car market since it was on sale back in 2002. In fact, it was an instant hit with 44,900 units sold. However, after the arrival of BS6 Phase 2 emission norms, the large sedan was secretly discontinued from our market. On the other hand, the international model has been thoroughly updated a few months ago. As a result, I expect the Czech carmaker to bring it to our shores since it is expanding its footprint in India. With the Octavia, Skoda could even think of equipping it with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol or a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. These engines will pair with manual and automatic transmissions. This will ensure that it becomes accessible to a wide range of potential buyers.
Specs (exp.) | New Skoda Octavia |
Engine | 1.5L (P) / 2.0L (P) |
Power | 150 hp / 190 hp |
Torque | 250 Nm / 320 Nm |
Transmission | 6MT / 6AT / 7DCT |
Expected Launch | 2025 |
Expected Price | Rs 25 lakh – Rs 35 lakh |
Skoda Octavia RS
The Skoda Octavia RS is a cult performance vehicle. It has performed exceedingly well in the Indian market every time the Czech carmaker brought it to our shores. It generally offers the performance vehicle in limited numbers. These fly off the shelves like hotcakes. Hence, there is a massive demand for this special edition version of the Octavia in India. As the new Octavia is revealed in the international markets, even its aggressive avatar could be brought to India via the CBU route. Sure, that will keep the prices extremely high. But as we have seen in the past, people opting for this car hardly bother about the price sticker. This fire-breathing monster draws power from a 2.0-litre TSI engine which develops 265 hp of peak power and 370 Nm of peak torque. This engine pairs with a quick-shifting 7-speed DSG transmission with an electronically controlled VAQ limited-slip differential.

Engine | 2.0-litre TSI Turbo Petrol |
Power | 265 hp |
Torque | 370 Nm |
Transmission | 7DCT |
Expected Launch | 2025 |
Expected Price | Rs 40 lakh – Rs 50 lakh |
Skoda Enyaq iV
The upcoming Skoda cars in India list also includes the Enyaq iV. In fact, we have spotted the global EV on Indian roads multiple times in recent memory. It is the electric SUV from the Czech carmaker which is selling in decent numbers abroad. In our market, it will rival the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and Volvo XC40 Recharge. It shares its underpinnings with VW’s MEB platform which also supports the ID.4. The electric crossover will likely possess a 77 kWh battery pack which could power a single-motor 2WD or a dual-motor AWD configuration. In its most powerful version, we can expect 265 hp of peak power which could propel the EV from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds. The WLTP range is a decent 513 km and the EV supports 125 kW DC fast charging.
Specs (exp.) | Skoda Enyaq iV |
Battery | 77 kWh |
Power | 265 hp |
Range | 513 km |
Drivetrain | 2WD / 4WD |
Expected Launch | Late 2024 or Early 2025 |
Expected Price | Rs 55 lakh – Rs 65 lakh |
Skoda Elroq
The final EV on this list of the upcoming Skoda cars in India is the Elroq. It will be the compact electric SUV (smaller than Enyaq iV). The estimated length is 4.2 m. Again, even it will utilize VW’s MEB platform. Skoda said that if the Enyaq iV becomes successful in India, it could even consider bringing the Elroq to our shores. Internationally, it has four trims – Elroq 50, 60, 85 and 85x. Powering these are three battery pack options – 55 kWh, 63 kWh and 82 kWh with single-motor RWD or dual-motor AWD configurations. The claimed range of over 560 km is impressive. These setups could offer power ranging from 168 hp to 295 hp.

Battery | 55 kWh – 82 kWh |
Power | 168 hp – 295 hp |
Range | 560 km |

Expected Price | Rs 30 lakh – Rs 40 lakh |
