Datsun Go has just been launched in India and the car comes at a pricing which is almost bang on to say the least. During the launch, officials from the company stated that they do not believe there should be a hierarchy to the variants of the car and customers should be able to choose the way they want to configure their cars. Thus the Datsun Go accessories packages have been launched, each with a bundle of accessories suited for different needs. This move is pretty unique in the segment, and Nissan/Datsun hopes that this will improve the ratings of the car among the customers.
The Datsun Go accessory packages include the Women Edition, Sport Package, Trendy Package, Family Package 1 & 2 and Essential Package 1 & 2. Let us take a look at what all is on offer in each of the packages:
Datsun Go Women Edition:
There’s nothing feminine about the package per say but Datsun wants to make its customers feel special about the same. You get reverse parking sensors coupled with a reverse parking camera alongside a remote locking security system. You also get a rear parcel tray, rear and side window curtain, a cushion pillow kit, mood lighting which is a class leading feature in the segment, front fog lights, roof rails and body graphics.
Datsun Go Trendy Package:
The package has been designed keeping the youth in mind. It gets a reverse parking camera, an audio system coupled with antenna assembly and rear speakers. It gets a glowing Datsun logo as well which looks pretty good at night and coupled with it the facility of mood lighting as well. It gets a rear parcel tray as well.
Datsun Go Sporty Package
The sporty package is the add that has been launched squarely to add character to the car. It gets roof rails, rear spoiler, fog lights, door visor and alloy wheels with a sporty design. In addition, it gets an exhaust tip finish, body graphics, body side molding, LED scuff plates, art leather seat covers coupled with leather cover wrapped gear knob and steering wheel.
Datsun Go Essentials Package 1 and 2
The Essential packages are the ones which are any how bought with a new car, its just that the company has clubbed them into a single offering. The Essential Package 1 gets a splash guard, remote security locking system, luggage mat, PVC black mats, fabric seat covers and steering wheel cover and these are the accessories one usually buys with the cars. In the Essential Package 2, you get carpet mats, body cover, steering wheel cover, fabric seat covers and a rear parcel tray.
Datsun Go Family Package 1
The family packages have been designed keeping in mind the families. It gets Carpet mat, PVC luggage mat, Art leather seat cover, Cushion kit, Parcel tray, Side curtain and Security system.
Datsun Go Family Package 2
The family package 2 contents are Fog lamp kit, Door visor, Body side molding, Steering wheel cover, Carpet mat, PVC luggage mat, Art leather seat cover, Cushion kit, Parcel tray, Side curtain and Security system.
Datsun wants to make the brand acceptable to the masses and wants to offer a certain level of customisation as well, which is often missing in the entry level segments. Pricing for these hasn’t been announced yet but they won’t cost a bomb.
