The upcoming Tata CURVV was seen performing rigorous road tests in the latest official teaser. The Indian auto giant has been releasing teaser videos of the soon-to-be-launched coupe SUV for a few days now. It is trying to tell the potential customers that the CURVV has undergone extensive testing across varied terrains and road surfaces. The aim is to ensure that the vehicle is capable of performing to the best of its abilities irrespective of the external conditions. For now, let us take a look at the details of this latest instance.
Tata CURVV Undergoes Rough Road Tests
This video clip emerges from the official Tata Motors Cars channel on YouTube. It captures the camouflaged coupe SUV performing tests on rough roads. For these tests, special surfaces have been prepared which are essentially exaggerated versions of regular potholes and other road surfaces we come across on a daily basis. Some of them are made up of building materials like stones but placed strategically. The aim is to test the endurance, ride quality and suspension of the vehicle.
In fact, the test mule is being driven at a relatively decent speed to ensure sustainable and consistent performance. There are cobbled stones on the road surface, along with deep depressions to test the stability. Towards the end, there is even a section which looks something like an extended rumble strip portion. Again, the aim is to test the performance of the components in addition to the comfort for the occupants. Tata Motors is advertising it as a vehicle designed for extreme performance.
Specs
The Tata CURVV coupe SUV will come with multiple powertrain options. These include petrol, diesel and electric. That will make it one of the few cars which offer all the options to the buyers. However, it is a common phenomenon among Tata Motors’ cars. It has converted all major cars in its lineup into electric cars. That is why Tata Motors is the leading EV maker in the country by a mile. We shall have to wait to see which powertrains the CURVV get.
Our View
Tata Motors is among the most successful and largest companies in India. It has constantly been clipping on the heels of Hyundai for that second spot on the monthly sales charts. For the coming future, it has planned a few products which can potentially make it achieve that goal. The CURVV has to be at the top among those cars for sure because it will belong to the mid-size SUV segment. This category has been expanding constantly for years now. Let us see how well people receive it once it is launched in India.
