In a rather surprising turn of events, a case emerged from Pakistan where a man designed a Maruti Alto which can be driven by a keyboard. It is fascinating what the human mind can achieve. In this day and age of technology, people are coming up with unthinkable ideas and using technological advancements to turn them into reality. This latest case is a prime example of that. For now, let us take a look at the details of this case from Pakistan.
Maruti Alto Driven With Keyboard
The information around this post emerge from Aaj TV Official on YouTube. It is a news report which mentions that this man has created a system with which he can control the operation of a car with a keyboard. For this demonstration, he has used the Maruti Alto. The visuals showcase him driving the car by sitting in the back seat with a keyboard in his hands. With it, he can control the brake pedal, accelerator pedal, steering wheel and other components. What impresses me the most is that the car is being driven in a relatively tight space without any problems.
The man mentions that he got the idea from a video game. He thought that just like he is able to control a car with a keyboard in the game, why can’t he do that in real life. That is when he started working on this idea. It took him 6-7 months to implement it. In the interview with the news channel, he remarks that in that part of the country, workers could use this to transport those who don’t know how to drive. Now, I am not sure how dangerous it could potentially be. But it looks pretty straightforward, especially for someone who has played racing video games.
Our View
As modern cars use tons of electronics, it becomes easy to use them and calibrate them according to our desires. While the Alto is not a particularly luxurious or feature-rich vehicle, experts like this man could leverage the existing electronic infrastructure to retrofit something like this which enables it to be driven using a keyboard. These videos are great for educational purposes or passion projects. I believe such practical experiments can teach you a lot. I just don’t recommend using such project cars for regular use.
