In a rather strange incident, a man alleges that the Tata CURVV test driver tried running into his car. The CURVV is an upcoming coupe SUV from Tata Motors which will rival the mighty Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and the likes in our market. Note that this is a rapidly expanding segment which is why almost all major carmakers operate in this category. However, Tata Motors didn’t have any SUVs in this space. The CURVV is slated to fill this void as it will be positioned between the Nexon and Harrier. Let us take a look at the details of this latest case.
Driver of Tata CURVV Test Mule Allegedly Tried Running Into Another Car
The details of this entire saga emerge from carswithkaran on Instagram. The caption of this post reads, “hey @tatamotorscars this guy legit tried to crash into me and run me off the road!! why are test drivers so aggressive when theyโre clearly testing on public roads.” This man alleges that the driver of the test mule tried driving into his car. Now, we can’t confirm or deny these claims. Still, I believe that some people try too hard to get exclusive images of upcoming test cars. In a bid to do that, they often intrude into the privacy of the test car.
Note that the CURVV bears a sloping roofline which highlights its coupe silhouette. That will be the major attraction of the SUV. On the inside, it will get the latest tech and convenience amenities including a large connected dual screen for instrument cluster and infotainment display, and tons of modern bells and whistles. Additionally, it will be available for the buyers in petrol, diesel and electric avatars. That will be a major draw for a whole bunch of potential buyers. More details will emerge closer to the launch.
Our View
Now, this is a pretty serious accusation, but I am certain that the driver was just trying to prevent the man from taking photos. Moreover, the drivers are instructed on most occasions to prevent letting the pictures taken of the cars. Hence, it is entirely possible that he would’ve gotten frustrated with people trying too hard to take the pictures. Hence, he could’ve done something like this just to scare the photographer away. Again, unless there is any solid evidence, I wouldn’t take anything at face value. Social media users should do their due diligence to confirm everything before believing.
