The much-anticipated RE Guerrilla 450 has been spied testing in a new dual-tone colour. The global launch is slated for July 17 and the India launch will follow soon. These spy images have been reported from Barcelona, Spain. This motorcycle will share a lot of elements with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 including powertrain and transmission. Still, it has a distinct appearance which sets it apart from the former. For now, let us take a look at the details of what the spy media reveals.
RE Guerrilla 450 Spied
The details of this spotting emerge from Bullet Guru on YouTube. The host mentions that the spy images are from Barcelona where the motorbike is being tested. This time around, the bike is seen in a yellow and black dual-tone paint shade. This combination enhances its sporty credentials. In addition to that, there are some other details showcased in the spy video. This includes things like a TFT screen like the one we see on the Himalayan, switches, turn-by-turn navigation, and more. In fact, the lower trim could borrow the instrument screen from the Meteor twins. The ride height looks perfect for long highway runs.
Also, the RE Guerrilla 450 gets monoshock absorber suspension at the rear, broad tyres for more traction on the road, a round headlamp, a compact seat, rugged side body panels, stubby exhaust pipe for a sporty appearance, grab handles, alloy wheels and more. The overall appearance of the bike is evidently visible in these videos. There are no camouflaged coverings to conceal the styling. Hence, we see the Guerrilla 450 in two paint schemes – Monotone and Dual-Tone. These will be for lower and higher trims, respectively.
Specs and Price
In terms of specifications, I expect the RE Guerrilla 450 to share the powertrain with the Himalayan 450. Hence, there will most likely be a 452-cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC 4V engine which generates a healthy 40.02 PS of power @ 8,000 RPM and 40 Nm of torque @ 5,500 RPM. This engine pairs with a 6-speed slip & assist gearbox with a wet multi-plate clutch. The bike is built on a twin-spar tubular steel frame with a 43 mm USD front fork with 200 mm of travel and a linkage-type mono-shock at the rear with 200 mm of travel. The expected price is Rs 2.40 lakh to Rs 2.60 lakh, ex-showroom.
