The much anticipated Tata Curvv has been spotted testing on Indian roads yet again. I have been reporting about the Curvv for a long time now. In fact, Curvv will launch with an IC engine, as well as an electric powertrain, much like other Tata cars. Hence, both these coupe SUVs have been undergoing testing rigorously. The Indian auto giant is ensuring that it tests the Curvv across a diverse range of terrains to ensure that it is capable of taking on any challenge. Let us get into the details of this latest case.
Upcoming Tata Curvv Spied Testing
These images have come to us courtesy of Capt. Joe B. The visuals capture the coupe SUV plying on the road wearing a heavy camouflage. The sloping roofline and the coupe silhouette are the first things one notices when you look at it. There is a roof-mounted spoiler at the rear and a bootlid-mounted spoiler which extends out of the body. In addition to that, I am also able to see a thin LED taillamp bar and a sporty rear bumper. Moving down the sides, the angular wheel arches look massive but the large alloy wheels fill these up quite decently.
The alloy wheel design has been wrapped under the camouflage too. There is a black side body cladding on the door panels which accentuates the sportiness of the SUV. The rear window looks relatively smaller due to the sloping roofline. Another attractive component on the sides is the flush-fitting door handles. These ooze a luxury vibe and are becoming common among mid-size SUVs after the Mahindra XUV700. Finally, the front section looks quite muscular with a rugged fender. All in all, it won’t be all that different from the near-production model showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year.
Our View
Tata Motors is the market leader when it comes to electric cars. In fact, it has transformed almost its entire portfolio into EVs by converting the existing internal combustion powertrains into electric mills while keeping everything else the same. That has worked wonders for the car marque. However, all its existing EVs are conversions of their ICE counterparts. Curvv will be the first electric car which will be designed from scratch along with the ICE model. Hence, it would be interesting to see how well the customers embrace it.
