Toyota Kirloskar Motor India recently came up with the Urban Cruiser Taisor. Essentially a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the new model is the crossover version of the Glanza. This is much like how the Fronx serves as a more SUVish Baleno. Now, to amplify its unique features and style, Toyota has come up with a rather engaging TV Commercial hihglighing the essence of an active and adventurous lifestyle. Check out the TVC below before I tell you more about the new vehicle.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor TVC highlights the new vehicle’s versatility. It begins focussing on the exterior of the Taisor. Like the Glanza, the Taisor isn’t a carbon copy of the donor Maruti Suzuki. This is in contrast with the last-gen Glanza and Urban Cruiser, which were merely rebadged copies of the earlier Baleno and Brezza, respectively. Soon, the video transitions to glimpses of the cabin. It shows features such as the head-up display and paddle shifters. It even shows the vehicle tackling the off-road terrain.
The TVC then goes on to bring to focus standout features such as 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, wireless chargers, and more. With a starting price of Rs. 7.73 lakh (ex-showroom), the Taisor is available with a 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol motor. Aesthetically, the Urban Cruiser Taisor gets a totally new front-end, which helps it distinguish itself from the Fronx. It features a wider grille with a honeycomb pattern. It even gets different LED DRLs. Inside, though, it mirrors the Fronx with the same design, layout and equipment.

What We Think
I had a good look at the TVC and what’s clear is that Toyota wants to highlight the versatility and boldness of its latest offering in the above TVC. I also feel that the carmaker wishes to bring the distinct styling to everyone’s notice. While the similarities with the Fronx can help the Taisor with a strong foundation, the distinct styling should help it carve out a unique identity.
