In a rather surprising turn of events, a couple got involved in a horrible crash in their old Tata Harrier and ended up purchasing the new model. Harrier is one of the most popular vehicles from the Indian carmaker in this segment. Tata Motors has gained in prominence in terms of sales in the last few years. In fact, it is constantly clipping on the heels of Hyundai for that second spot on the sales charts. While the volume churners for Tata are relatively more affordable cars than the Harrier, there is a charm in one of the flagship offerings from the Indian car marque. Let us see why the owners of Tata Harrier bought it once again.

After Crashing Old Tata Harrier, Owners Get A New One
This video comes from DDS on YouTube. The popular vlogger interacts with the couple who was involved in a horrendous crash in their old Tata Harrier. The woman mentions that they had gone out for a drive when an overspeeding Maruti Ertiga hit them from behind. Due to high speed and momentum, the Harrier collided against a divider and climbed on it. Since the severity of impact was so high, the airbags were deployed and the rear and front sections of the SUV were in a dilapidated condition. In fact, the tyre came off and the engine was on the ground.
Thankfully, the couple escaped without any injury. That is a testament to the build quality of the SUV. However, I feel that a lot depends on the specifics of the crash. Still, to save the lives of people even in such serious incidents is quite impressive. Utterly satisfied with the performance of the vehicle, the owners decided to buy the new Harrier once again after the old model was declared as a total loss by the insurance. That shows the trust they have in Tata cars. I feel that it is only after incidents like these that people start taking road safety seriously.

Author’s Note
I have reported many instances of crashes of the Tata Harrier SUV. In an overtly majority of these cases, people have come out on the right side of the accident in terms of consequences. Even if the vehicle was totalled, the passengers were able to escape without any injuries in most situations. Note that the new Tata Harrier and Safari also boast a full 5-star safety rating at the Bharat NCAP. That is a validation of the fact that the carmaker has worked on all aspects to make these SUVs as safe as possible as per the law. We hope that such cases inspire people to become more conscious about the importance of investing money in safer cars.
