It is noteworthy that the only select variants are available at a lower price point. The base-level Comfortline variant, 1.0-litre MT, is now cheaper by Rs 70,000. Meanwhile, the Taigun GT Chrome Plus 1.5-litre DSG and GT Plus Chrome 1.5-litre DSG variants are now available of Rs 18.69 lakh. The top-spec duo were earlier available for Rs 19.44 lakh and Rs 19,74 lakh, respectively (all prices ex-showroom).
Other than this, even the Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Limited Collective variants are available at more attractive prices. The GT Edge 1.5-litre DSG in Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Steel Grey Matte paint options is on sale at Rs 18.90 lakh, a significant drop from Rs 19.64 lakh and Rs 19.70 lakh earlier.

Volkswagen Taigun is available in two engine variants – 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI EVO. The former offers 115 PS and 148 Nm, while the latter offers 150 PS and 250 Nm. The more powerful motor even benefits from cylinder deactivation tech. Transmission options for the lower engine variant include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic options, while the bigger engine is available with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Also, with an NCAP score of 5-stars for both adult and child protection, the Taigun can be touted as the safest SUV in the segment. The standard safety equipment includes front dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Brake Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and engine immobiliser.
