Tata Motors will unveil the Tata Manza compact sedan, to be called the Tata Zest today. The car will measure less than 4-metres in length to benefit from an exemption as per law and is based on an all new platform. The car will feature a new design-theme, new interiors, features that could make it the best value-for-money buy in the segment etc. The talking point would be the addition of the new Revotron 1.2T petrol engine which could be one of the most fuel-efficient engines in the country.
We will bring you updates from the event, stay tuned to Car Blog India. Meanwhile check out the spy shots of the car below.

Tata Motors has some pretty ambitious plans for the year 2014. It has already started out with pursuing them by launching the 1.2 litre Revotron turbo charged petrol motor and will soon be launching the revamped Vista (which could be named the Tata Motors F4). The company is testing a car for the compact sedan segment and it has been spied for the first time. Caught testing by ZigWheels.com, the Tata Manza compact sedan, which may be called the Tata Motors F5 when launched, has been spied. The photos show a compact version of the Manza with the headlights of the sedan (which are surely there for testing purposes and will not make it to the production variant) and no tail-lamps.
The Manza Compact Sedan will borrow design cues from the facelifted Vista as well as the Manza. The test mule that was caught on test appeared to be in the final stages of production but not ready completely as the tail lamps were missing. It will get a flowing tail lamp cluster to give it a big car feel but if you look closely, the car looks a bit dis-proportionate. But then, the Dzire CS which is pretty much the most awkward looking compact sedan has been clocking great numbers so the proportions may be something most people might overlook.
The car will get an all new grille and bumpers which we expect to be similar to the facelifted Vista which will debut alongside it at the Auto Expo 2014. The tail lamps are an all new unit as well and the car gets new alloy wheels too. The door handles are new as well. The ORVMs look somewhat similar to the Vento/Rapid and are different from the current Manza and Vista.
The car will get the recently unveiled 1.2 litre turbo petrol motor alongside the 1.3 litre diesel motor sourced from Fiat. Tata Motors was the first company ever to tap the compact sedan segment when it launched the Indigo CS which became pretty successful in its days. The compact sedans qualify for a tax benefit which is passed on to the buyers. This has been the primary reason for the success of the compact vehicles and Tata is all set to take a share out of this pie.
