This latest post comes from Being_Saldhana on YouTube. It captures the rugged off-roader with a heavy camouflage. Still, the overall silhouette of the SUV is unmistakably Gurkha. In the first part of the video, the rear section is visible. It carries the typical tall boy boxy stance with vertical taillamps and a rugged bumper. On the sides, the extended wheelbase becomes apparent. The wheel arches are square and the addition of a middle window confirms the 5-door identity. It even gets sturdy side steps to enhance the ingress and egress characteristics for the passengers. The flared wheel arches, the round LED headlamps and the crease-less side profile is very reminiscent of the iconic Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.

While official specifications have not been confirmed, it is anticipated that the long-wheelbase Gurkha will probably retain the same engine as the standard model. This engine, sourced from Mercedes, is a 2.6-litre diesel unit, delivering 91 hp and 250 Nm of peak power and torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4×4 drivetrain, underscoring its off-road capabilities. While there is potential for Force to enhance the engine’s performance, no confirmed details are available at this time.

Author’s Note
In terms of off-road prowess, the Force Gurkha can stand toe-to-toe with the renowned Thar and the new Jimny. However, its basic interior and somewhat limited features have impacted its sales performance. Nevertheless, we believe that a dedicated community of hardcore off-road enthusiasts prefers the Gurkha over the Thar. The introduction of a 5-door version would enhance practicality, addressing the current limitation of a fixed second-row window. Additionally, Force is reportedly considering the development of various SUV models based on the Gurkha platform, including a pickup truck. There is much anticipation surrounding the future of this segment.
