This post comes from cobrasuspension_india on Instagram. The images capture the appearance of the Verna from various angles after installing the Cobra lowering springs. Note that Cobra is a huge player in this space. The fact that the car shop and owner went for these means that they were concerned about the quality of the components and didn’t want to compromise. As per this post, the main highlights of the premium mid-size sedan after this customization include:
- Tyre Profile – 205/55 R16
- Approx Drop in Ground Clearance – 40 mm
- Reduced Body Roll
- Faster Direction Changes
- Sharper Steering Response
- Improved Aesthetics

Specs
There are no changes to the powertrain of the Verna. It introduces a cutting-edge 1.5-litre GDi (Gasoline Direct Injection) turbo petrol engine, establishing a new standard in the segment with an impressive output of 160 PS and 253 Nm of peak power and torque. This potent engine offers the flexibility of pairing with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an exhilarating 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox, ensuring an exhilarating performance. Additionally, the model retains the dependable 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a favoured choice over the years, delivering a familiar 115 PS and 144 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine can be matched with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. The new Verna is priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 17.42 lakh, ex-showroom.

Author’s Note
Lowering the overall height of the Verna might improve its driving dynamics and appearance, but on our roads, it could be challenging to drive it over massive potholes and speed breakers in many parts of the country. In fact, the abysmal condition of our roads is a prime reason why the trend of SUVs is on the rise. People purchase SUVs for their road presence and high ground clearance. SUVs give them the ability to take the owners just about anywhere without worrying about scraping the underbelly. Hence, we are not sure about that aspect with this Verna.
