A prominent Australian car expert was left utterly impressed by the commendable engineering behind the Mahindra Scorpio N. Mahindra invited a bunch of Australian car reviewers to its testing facility in Chennai, India a few weeks ago. After enjoying immense success in India, the SUV is now ready to make an impact in Australia. The Scorpio N, a 6-seater off-road SUV, presents itself as a strong competitor to big names like the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, all while being priced at nearly half the cost of those vehicles. Surprisingly, the top-of-the-line Z8L trim can be purchased for just $45,990, including all costs. Now, let’s listen to what the host has to share about his time at the Mahindra Testing facility in India.

During his time there, he interacted with the engineers and took a tour of the R&D department. That is where all components of the Mahindra SUVs are tested rigorously. Apart from that, he got to learn about the build quality, structural strength of the ladder-frame chassis, features, etc of the Scorpio N. However, the most impressive aspect has to be the off-roading experience and driving the XUV700 at close to 200 km/h.

He was in the Scorpio N to test its off-road capabilities. He clearly mentions that the testing tracks are more treacherous than anything else he has seen so far. These were not just meant for minor off-roading shenanigans. In fact, these were designed to challenge the SUV to its core. Still, the Scorpio N was able to traverse across these obstacles without any fuss. Multiple activities were designed to test various abilities of the SUV including wheel articulation, suspension travel, ground clearance and more. All in all, he is certain that this has to be the most impressive factory tour he has been to.
