Tata CURVV and 5-Door Mahindra Thar Testing
This post comes from motor_noter on Instagram. It captures a man making a video of the two SUVs. They are at a traffic signal in the adjacent lanes. The CURVV is closer to this man who is creating the video. The sloping roofline of the CURVV is unmistakably coupe. It will be the first coupe-SUV in this category. It contains a shark fin antenna with sleek LED taillamps. The entire body is under a thick camouflage. Even the alloy wheels are not completely visible. Still, the silhouette of the CURVV is evident and enticing.

On the other hand, the 5-door Mahindra Thar is further away in this video. Still, one could vividly recognize it. It gets a boxy silhouette and a tall body stance, much like its 3-door counterpart. However, the extended length and wheelbase is pronounced in this 5-door iteration. There is a boot-mounted spare wheel and a high mount stop light. It bears a rugged exterior with sturdy bumper and large alloy wheels. All in all, it will borrow most elements from the 3-door version.

Author’s Note
This is a great visual for any SUV lover. Both these belong to two different categories in India. The mid-size SUV has been displaying steady growth in the last couple of years. Tata’s arrival in this segment is slated to boost it further. Similarly, the craze for lifestyle off-roaders like Mahindra Thar is rapidly increasing too. That is where the Mahindra Thar 5-door fits in. It will attract a wider range of customers due to its enhanced practicality and utility due to the longer wheelbase. It will offer more legroom to the rear passengers and a bigger boot compartment. Both these SUVs will launch in the coming months.
