There are multiple reports of the 2024 Tata Safari Storme making its debut in spy pics online. Note that the Safari Storme was among the most popular SUVs a few years ago. In fact, the Safari moniker has been around for a couple of decades in Tata’s portfolio. Over the years, the Indian auto giant has developed rugged, off-roading-focused and tough versions of the Safari. However, the current Safari was given this nameplate a couple of years ago. This current model was showcased as a concept earlier with Buzzard or Gravitas nameplates.

2024 Tata Safari Storme
This video comes from Harsh VLOGS on YouTube. The host mentions that there are news of the Safari Storme making a comeback as the Safari Classic. This is in line with what Mahindra has done with its Scorpio range. However, we are not sure if this could be the case. In the case of Mahindra Scorpio, the model was never discontinued. Only the modern iteration, in the form of Scorpio N, came into existence. But the actual Safari has already been discontinued for a long time. Hence, we can’t say with any certainty that Tata will bring back the Safari Storme in the Classic iteration.

In fact, this video also refers to a digital rendition of the Safari Storme by a prominent digital artist. He has taken care of the fact that he doesn’t tinker too much with the original silhouette of the SUV. In essence, he has modernized the elements including the front headlamp, grille, bumper, alloy wheels, taillamps, etc. However, the overall design language remains identical to the original Safari Storme. This is a great way to draw people’s attention to something familiar with a hint of modern components.

I am of the opinion that these are just rumours. I don’t see a Safari Storme making a healthy business case for the Indian carmaker. Its Harrier and Safari siblings are doing decently well in the market already. There are plans to launch new vehicles including the CURVV, Harrier EV, Safari EV, etc. With the focus shifting to EVs, I am not sure why it would want to experiment with a ladder-frame-chassis and 4×4-equipped SUV.
