This walkaround video of the exterior and interior of the Tata Sierra.EV reveals new details. Tata Motors showcased the Sierra SUV concept at the Auto Expo in January last year. That ignited the love of the onlookers for the nameplate. Remember Sierra was a mighty popular SUV from Tata Motors over a decade ago. Now at the Bharat Mobility Expo, the model on display is much closer to the production version. Let us take a look at the details here.

Tata Sierra.EV Revealed – Exterior
The video comes from Rajni Chaudhary on YouTube. She is a prominent YouTuber who brings content from the automotive world. This time around, she has the Sierra.EV. Looking at the exterior, the SUV looks closer to production. At the front, the fascia is in line with the latest design philosophy of the brand. This includes a full-length LED light bar on the edge of the bonnet, neatly culminating into the LED DRLs on either side. Apart from that, there is a massive panel below the bumper with a gloss-black finish. Note that since this would be an electric car, there are no air intake regions at the front. Underneath the bumper, you would find a sturdy skid plate to accentuate the demeanour of the SUV.

Also, the LED headlamps are positioned on the extreme edges of the bumper. It is similar to what we have seen in the latest Tata cars ranging from Punch to Safari. Moving down the sides reveals stylish and elegant 20-inch alloy wheels and flush-fitting door handles. The wheel arches are quite pronounced and the roof rails look sporty too. However, what gives away the fact that this is still some time away from production is the glass side panel behind the B-pillars. It boasts a boxy silhouette with an upright stance. But the side section and roof are constructed out of glass. We are almost certain that it won’t be the case with the production-spec model. Also, there are 5 doors on this in contrast to 3 on the model which was showcased last year. At the rear, there is a unique roof spoiler and connected LED taillamps with a Tata logo.

Tata Sierra.EV Revealed – Interior
After a thorough tour of the exterior of the Sierra.EV, we head to the inside. As soon as one enters the cabin, the premium materials grab the attention. Still, there is a minimalistic vibe which is prevalent in modern EVs. The top highlights include:
- Flat Bottom Steering Wheel with Illuminated Tata Logo
- Steering-Mounted Controls for In-Car Functions and Multimedia Operation
- Multiple colour themes for an airy cabin feel
- Two 10.25-inch Touchscreens – One for Infotainment and one for Driver’s Instrument Cluster
- Textured Dashboard with Dark Leather Material
- Gloss Black and Copper Inserts at various places in the cabin
- Ambient Lighting on Door Panels and Centre Console
- Elegant Gear Lever
- Touch-Sensitive Controls
- Plenty of Storage Space
- Sierra Insignia on the Seats
- Lounge Seating (although we don’t expect it to make it to the production version)

Expected Specs
Tata Motors has been tight-lipped about the powertrain options on the Sierra. However, we know that it has to be an electric car. Hence, multiple reports suggest a 60 kWh battery pack. It could offer a range of around 450-500 km. Also, if it borrows a powertrain from the Harrier and Safari EVs, it could come with either a single-motor 2WD or a dual-motor AWD configuration. Therefore, the power and torque figures would correspond to what is expected of a large SUV like the Sierra. There are also chances of the Sierra in petrol and diesel guise. We shall have to wait for the official announcements to know anything for sure. But this video highlighting the interior and exterior of the upcoming Tata Sierra.EV is interesting.

Author’s Note
Tata Motors is clearly on a roll in the EV space at the moment. It has conveniently but smartly leveraged the success of its ICE models and converted them into EVs. The Nexon EV, Tiago EV, Tigor EV and Punch EV are prime examples of that. Just on the back of these cars, it holds over 80% of the market share in India in EV sales. On top of that, the arrival of the CURVV will further bolster and enhance that success as people will get something new which is not an ICE-derivative. The EV space will benefit from the launch of the electric versions of the Harrier and Safari. When we add Sierra.EV to the equation, things get even more appealing for Tata Motors as a brand. Finally, we must not forget about the Avinya which Tata Motors also showcased at the Auto Expo last year. Hence, one could infer that the Indian carmaker is betting big on EVs without compromising on the existing coal-burning ICE models.
