Following the news that the 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 would be unveiled in India during the 2014 Indian auto Expo, we have now confirmed reports that the 2014 Kawasaki Z800 will be launched in India soon after that. The initial glimpse of the bike may be seen at the 2014 Auto Expo and we believe that immediately after that, the bike will be rolled out in the country in February.
It will be Kawasaki’s sixth sports bike to be launched in India and second one from the Kawasaki’s new ‘Z’ series. At first, the Japanese company may introduce the bikes via the completely-built-up (CBU) route. However, if there is a good sales response in the market, the Z800 bike may be sourced through the completely-knocked-down (CKD) route from Thailand, which will reduce the price of the bike drastically.
The mechanics of the middle-weight machine revolves around the 806cc liquid-cooled inline four engine. Coupled with six speed gearbox, the engine can generate a maximum power of 112 BHP @ 10,200 rpm and a peak torque of 83 NM at 8,000 rpm. The bike can clock the maximum speed of 233 KMPH. With its loaded digital display panel, you will be thoroughly updated about your bike’s performance with loads of information. Offcourse, it does not look as sporty as its elder sibling Z1000 but it has enough to lure someone who is biking enthusiast and an adventure lover.
There are three different colors available in Europe but the company may bring up only one color here, i.e. Candy Flat Blazed Green. The bike will be available at company’s exclusive showrooms. We expect it to be available for a price tag hovering around 8 lakh. There has been some good response for the earlier launched Ninjas in India and we believe that the effect may trickle down to Z800 as well. Let’s wait and watch if this beast can turn the heat on the roads.
Kawasaki is getting pretty serious about the Indian market now and we might just see a lot more mean green bikes roaming around on Indian roads.
