We were recently invited to the media drive of this SUV. On this occasion, we got a chance to test the acceleration of the two trims. In the first instance, we got our hands on the manual version. It was able to complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in 13.21 seconds. Thereafter, we performed the same test on the automatic variant. Interestingly, it was able to replicate this activity in just 12.11 seconds. Note that the automatic model makes more torque than the manual version. That could be the reason for this result.

Specs
At present, the Citroen C3 is powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, generating 110 hp and 190 Nm of peak power and torque. It is currently paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The car achieves an admirable ARAI-certified fuel efficiency rating of 18.5 km/l. Note that the automatic trim boasts 205 Nm of peak torque, a decent 15 Nm boost in comparison to the manual trim. Both the Citroen C3 and C4 share a common foundation, as they are constructed on the same CMP architecture. The automatic model is about to launch in our market soon. The prices for the manual versions range from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 12.75 lakh, ex-showroom. The automatic variants will command a premium over these prices.

Author’s Note
We had previously reported that the demand for the automatic trim was always high. Lately, Indian customers have been looking for the convenience of an automatic transmission. This is necessary to deal with the massive traffic issues in our cities. Citroen took the feedback and is now offering the automatic gearbox as well. We shall have to wait a bit to know the pricing details. We will also get to know how well the customers respond to that automatic version.
