In the latest video, the Tata CURVV, Harrier EV and Safari EV were seen testing on the road. Tata Motors is on a roll in the EV space in our market. At the moment, it is the sole leader with over 80% market share in EV sales. This is just on the back of three products – Nexon EV, Tiago EV and Tigor EV. It has recently added the Punch EV to this lineup too. However, going forward, the Indian auto giant doesn’t want to stop there. It will expand its EV portfolio even further with an electric mid-size coupe SUV – CURVV and electric versions of the flagship Safari and Harrier siblings.

Tata CURVV, Harrier EV and Safari EV Testing

Let us first talk about the CURVV. It will be available with petrol, diesel and electric powertrains. With a length of approximately 4.3 meters, it directly competes with the Hyundai Creta. Intriguingly, it will position itself between the Nexon and Harrier SUVs. Embracing an SUV-coupe silhouette, the CURVV is going to be highly attractive. It will provide a range of powertrain options, featuring a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and an electric version utilizing technology from the well-received Nexon EV. Anticipated to exhibit a contemporary design, the interior is poised to offer the latest technology, convenience features, and connectivity options.

Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV
The other two SUVs were the electric versions of the existing Harrier and Safari. We don’t anticipate too many design changes. Still, there will be enough elements to set it apart from the ICE models. Unveiled during the Auto Expo 2023, there are speculations that it will adopt an all-wheel-drive configuration and a dual-motor setup. Despite official announcements still pending, there are high expectations for an impressive range surpassing 500 km. Positioned as a step above the Nexon EV, it is presumed to incorporate a notably larger battery pack, leading to enhanced power and torque figures. Consequently, both the exterior and interior design are expected to showcase a significantly more modern aesthetic compared to the standard Harrier model.

Tata Motors has a clear plan to continue dominating the EV space in India. It keeps leveraging the success its ICE models command in our market. The four EVs that will follow that approach include Nexon EV, Tiago EV, Tigor EV and Punch EV. The Harrier EV and Safari EV will be the other additions to that list. Apart from that, the CURVV will be the new product in its portfolio. It will most likely have a dedicated platform. Looking even farther into the future, we are not too far away from the Avinya either. Therefore, the next couple of years will be extremely transformative for the Indian car marque.
