PM Modi’s Range Rover Sentinel
This image has been sent to us by one of our supporters. It captures one of the convoy of Range Rovers. Looking at the number plate, it is the same car which PM Modi uses to address the crowd at various places during his campaigns and visits. However, as is seen in the image, the air suspension looks damaged. In all fairness, it is not uncommon for air suspensions to get screwed with the kind of road conditions we have in India. It is not easy to maintain and repair air suspension in our market. Relentless exposure to broken roads can result in damage to this suspension system. However, it is the best setup to provide feather-like comfort to the passengers. That is why you would find air suspension only on some of the most expensive cars on the planet.

Disadvantages of Air Suspension
While the pros of Air Suspension are aplenty, we must also take a look at the cons.
Cost
The most concerning factor is the price of cars with air suspension. As mentioned previously, only the elites among the elites opt for such opulent cars which have air suspension. Therefore, this is one thing to keep in mind. But if you are such a prominent personality that you are thinking of buying a car at this price point, this won’t probably be much of an issue.
Maintenance
What will definitely cause you a headache, however, is the amount of maintenance needed. We must mention that air suspension is not unreliable. Still, if you often travel on roads which are not maintained ideally, chances are that the suspension system will demand constant monitoring. As soon as you spot an issue, it is critical to fix it. It is not like mechanical components which people use even if they are slightly damaged.

Mechanical Issues
However, the mechanical failures are what you need to keep in mind. There could be so many things wrong with the components of air suspension. This includes things like malfunctions from rust or moisture damage from the inside, air fitting failure of the air tubing, leaks in air springs or the compression burning out. All these failures will instantly cause the car to tilt toward one side, rendering it useless to drive for much longer. Therefore, instant repair is needed. These are some disadvantages of air suspension.
