The newly launched Punch EV utilizes the pure EV architecture now. The buyers can now choose between two battery pack options – a 25 kWh and a 35 kWh. The former is good for 315 km of range (MIDC), whereas the larger battery pack offers 421 km of range on a single charge. These batteries use two e-Drive options – a 60 kW (80 hp) PMSM AC with 114 Nm and a 90 kW (120 hp) PMSM AC with 190 Nm of peak power and torque. This results in a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 9.5 seconds with a top speed of 140 km/h. The battery pack and electric motor are IP67 rated offering water and dust resistance. For peace of mind of the owners, there is an 8-year or 1,60,000 km warranty. With the Long Range (LP) version, there are options of 3.3 kW and a 7.2 kW AC fast charger along with a 50 kW DC fast charger. Using the latter, you can charge the EV from 10% to 80% in just 56 mins.

Tata Nexon EV
The Tata Nexon EV is available in two versions – MR (Medium Range) and LR (Long Range). You can choose between two battery options – a 30.2 kWh and a 40.5 kWh, offering claimed ranges of 325 km and 465 km, respectively. These electric models deliver impressive power and torque, featuring peak power and torque figures of 127 hp / 215 Nm and 143 hp / 215 Nm. In terms of charging, both versions can be fully charged from 10% to 100% in just 56 minutes using a DC fast charger. Alternatively, with the 7.3 kW AC charger, the MR variant can complete the same task in 4.3 hours, while the LR variant takes 6 hours.

The new Tata Punch EV retails between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 14.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The top trim with an optional sunroof and 7 kW AC fast charger will cost Rs 1 lakh more. That will take the price of the absolute top model to Rs 15.49 lakh, ex-showroom. On the other hand, the Nexon EV ranges from Rs 14.74 lakh and Rs 19.94 lakh, ex-showroom.
