The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been spied fully undisguised for the first time as it was participating in a commercial shoot. The car seen here sports the AMG styling pack and comes very close to what we imagined it would look like when it was first teased by the company in late October 2013.
The car gets a lot of design cues from its older sibling, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. While it does look good, there are very few factors that differentiate between the two in terms of design. That may bother some, while it may not bother others. At front you get dual-lamp units with LED-daytime running lamps running on top of them and a batch of LED turn indicators on the top border of the same unit. The swooping roofline mimics the S-Class, and the rear design looks as though it has cut-copied-paste(d) from the S-Class. Check out the spy shots below, they were first shown at WorldCarFans.com

Photos of the the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class have been leaked online. The photos were posted by Spanish website Diarimotor.com after Mercedes-Benz accidentally posted them on their site. The photos have been taken down now, but eagle eyed surfers got the chance to take snapshots of the same.
The leaked photos show the front quarter vie of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class which confirm our predictions of how the car would look like. The car gets a lot of styling cues from the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class and finally falls in line with the company’s new corporate look.
The headlamp unit now features dual-lamps with LED day-time running lamps placed on top. The grille is bigger and looking at it from the side reveals a swooping roofline and a softer body design than the current car.

A new teaser video as well as a few photographs from luxury car maker Mercedes has given indications that we may soon see an all new generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the W205. The car may be introduced in early 2014, we may get the first glimpse of the car at the Detroit Auto Show to be held in January 2014. The teaser video as well as the photos of the new C-Class give a lot of hint about what to expect in the new generation car.
The highlights of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class include revised exterior design, weight saving measures, a more luxurious interiors, a new touchpad control surface, new tech and possibly new variants too (which may include a convertible!) . The new C-Class has been developed on a shortened version of the MRA rear-wheel-drive platform used in the 2014 S-Class.
Video: 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Teaser
The teaser video gives you a small idea of what the C-Class will get for the 2015 model year, it will become more ‘classy’, which means the design will not be a continuation of the current car’s ‘angry, appealing to the youth’ design. Inside, the car will get new materials on the seats, dashboard and other surfaces. The highlight of the new interior, apart from the total design overhaul, seems to be the touch-input for the COMAND infotainment system which supports handwriting recognition. There is also a prominent infotainment-cum-navigation screen on top of the centre console.

The teaser shows the front section of the car which will lose the very angry looking headlamps and replace them with units resembling the ones found on the A-Class or the B-Class, to bring it more in line with the current Mercedes-Benz signature styling. The headlamps now feature DRLs on the top side of the unit, with dual lamps. There will be at least two different grille designs on offer s usual, the more stylish AMG Sport grille (which can be seen in the teaser) seems to have received a small redesign, with only two horizontal slats as compared to the three found on the current car. The front bumper design has also been subtly changed, and so have the ORVMs. The changes made to side panels seem to be minimal. Come to the rear and you would be a bit disappointed if you love the current design, the smart looking lamps will be replaced for lamps which look similar to the ones found on the new S-Class. The stubby look at the rear will be replaced a more ‘classy’ swooping look, also mimicked from the S-Class. Some/all models may also get dual exhausts ate the rear.

Inside
Step inside and the changes are more prominent.
The whole cabin is more luxurious looking (and we are sure it will feel more luxurious too). A flow-y design theme can be seen, which replaces the mainly quadrangular theme in the current car. The steering gets a flat bottom (this three spoke steering is part of the AMG sport package), while the centre console becomes very uncluttered. Most of the functions controlled by the buttons in the present car seems to have been shifted into the COMAND system. Speaking of the COMAND system, the lower centre console is dominated by the COMAND contoller with the prominent touch-input system. What else? well the sir-vents on the dashboard are all circular, the rectangular-ish ones in the centre console in the current car been replaced. The air-vents look similar to the ones found on the A-Class and B-Class in India. There top of the dashboard has a continuous flow which continues from one side of the cabin to the other, in the current car, the big multimedia screen would not let that design feature happen, and so the designers have to decided to plonk it on the centre console than be recessed into the dashboard. The instrument console sees a huge change, the three-dial design on the current car is replaced with a two-dial design. In short, apart from the multimedia screen, everything seems to fit perfectly in the cabin.

Technology
The engineering effort put into the new car has helped it shed as much as 100 Kg, despite an increase in length and width, the use of aluminum as well as some other composite materials is credited for this. Mercedes-Benz will offer features on the new C-Class which were earlier available only on top end (read mostly S-Class) cars in its lineup, these include:
- Air-Balance active fragrancing system : The air-con system has four built in fragrances which can be activated as per the users mood.
- Full-colour heads-up display which projects speed, navigation info and driver-assist functions.
- Mercedes’s Airmatic air suspension: Adjustable air-suspension system with four modes, self-leveling capability and ride-height adjust.
- New safety-systems which include stereo-cameras which can detect pedestrians and other obstacles on the road upto a distance of about 500 metres.
- Radar sensors (one in each bumper) help with cruise control.
- The radar sensors also help the car steer itself in case it senses the driver not taking evasive maneuvers in impeding accidents.
- Pre-safe brakes which stop the car of up to 60 KMPH to prevent collisions or slow down the car to reduce the impact if the car is travelling at higher speeds.
We still have to wait and see how much of the features mentioned above will make it India, we do not Mercedes-Benz to skimp on much though. No information about the engines on offer have been released as of now. There are rumours that apart from the standard coupe and sedan variants, the C-Class will also get a convertible variant and a liftback variant in international markets.
Whatever happens, the new 2015 C-Class will be a big leap over the current car.
We will update the story as news comes in, do keep tuned in to Car Blog India.
