In the latest video clip on social media, the upcoming 5-door Mahindra Thar was spotted driving right next to a Jeep Wrangler. The two have almost a similar silhouette. The arrival of the Jimny has heightened anticipation for the 5-door Thar, making it the most eagerly awaited product in the country. Thar is responsible for creating excitement in our market about hardcore off-roading. Consequently, the 5-door Thar is attracting a larger customer base thanks to its practicality and impressive capabilities. Now, let’s explore how it stacks up against the premium and legendary Jeep Wrangler.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door Seen With Jeep Wrangler
This video clip comes from hri.shii and _thar_lover on Instagram. The visuals depict the two off-roading SUVs positioned next to each other. On one side, the Wrangler commands the road in its full splendour, representing a premium luxury off-roading SUV with a legacy spanning decades. However, it resides in a notably more expensive segment. On the flip side, the Thar caters to a much broader audience. Upon reviewing the video, there are hardly any significant distinctions between the two. Both exhibit the characteristic boxy silhouette that off-roaders are renowned for.

In this video, only the rear profile is in view, and in my perspective, there’s a significant design overlap. Notably, elements such as the vertically positioned LED taillamps, the spare wheel mounted on the boot lid, the side-opening boot door, the robust bumper, and the reflector lights exhibit striking similarities between the two SUVs. Remarkably, even the size comparison suggests that the Wrangler appears just about similar to the Thar, although the difference is minimal. The wheel arches visible in the video also share a close resemblance. Therefore, it wouldn’t be inaccurate to anticipate that the upcoming 5-door Mahindra Thar will make a noteworthy impact in the market.

Author’s Note
The primary drawback of the current 3-door Thar lies in its limited cabin space, impacting its practicality. The extended wheelbase of the upcoming 5-door variant tackles this issue, making it more accommodating for larger families and improving overall accessibility. This design enhancement is particularly beneficial for the rear legroom and the boot compartment. It will be intriguing to see how customers react to the bigger Thar. The 5-door Jimny has already enjoyed immense success, and now we await eagerly to see if the 5-door Mahindra Thar can replicate a similar triumph in the market.
