The upcoming 5-door Mahindra Thar was compared to the Jeep Wrangler in a recent video. The larger Thar test prototypes have been frequently seen over the past few months. With Jimny’s introduction, the 5-door Thar has become the most anticipated product in the country. The Thar has a reputation for its connection to adventurous off-roading, playing a key role in the rising popularity of this segment. As a result, the 5-door Thar is drawing in more customers due to its practicality and impressive capabilities. Let us see how it compares with the premium and legendary Jeep Wrangler.

Mahindra Thar & Jeep Wrangler Compared
This latest video comes from Harsh VLOGS on YouTube. It captures visuals showcasing the two off-roading SUVs side-by-side. On one hand, the Wrangler is travelling on the road in all its glory. It is a premium luxury off-roading SUV which has a legacy of decades. However, it belongs to a significantly more expensive end of the spectrum. On the other hand, the Thar is catered to a much wider audience. Looking at the video, there are barely any major distinctions between the two. Both of them carry that typical boxy silhouette which off-roaders are known for.

In this video, only the rear profile is visible. In my opinion, there is a huge design overlap. For instance, the vertically positioned LED taillamps, the boot lid-mounted spare tyre, the side-opening boot door, the rugged bumper, reflector lights, etc are almost identical. As a matter of fact, the Wrangler looks slightly smaller than the Thar. But the difference doesn’t seem much. Even the wheel arches visible in this video are almost similar. Therefore, it won’t be wrong to assume that the upcoming Mahindra Thar in 5-door guise will shake up the market.

Author’s Note
The main limitation of the existing 3-door Thar is its restricted cabin space, which affects its practicality. The extended wheelbase of the upcoming 5-door model addresses this issue, catering to larger families and enhancing the Thar’s overall accessibility. This design improvement is especially advantageous for the rear legroom and the boot compartment. It will be interesting to observe how customers respond to the upgraded Thar. The 5-door Jimny has already experienced swift success, and now we eagerly anticipate whether the 5-door Mahindra Thar can achieve a similar triumph in the market.
