The 2014 Tata Indica Vista / Tata Vista / Tata ‘Falcon 4’ has been spied with production spec lights, the photos were uploaded by cartoq.com. What you see here is one of the ways in which Tata is trying to give the new Vista a different identity, which is by changing the way it looks. At least one, if not all, variants of the new hatchback will feature the projector-lamp equipped headlamp unit shown below. The grille seems to have been lifted from the Manza Hybrid concept just like we had told yo on the update filed on 21st October 2013. All the variants of the new hatchback will ditch the ‘Christmas tree’ tail-lamps and feature more conventional looking lamps, which are also prominently seen in the spy shots.
Cartoq also reports other changes made to the new car. The new Vista will positioned higher up as compared to the current car and will have features which reflect the premium-ness. The new hatch will get better sound deadening material to make the cabin feel more premium and panel gaps around the car will be reduced and consistent. The dashboard will be carried over from the Vista D90, but will feature better plastics and will have better fit and finish.

Autocar India has learnt from its sources that Tata is taking the 2014 Tata Vista update very seriously. The car will not resemble any current Tata car, though it will still be built on the same platform that the Vista and Manza are built upon. Tata has given the new Vista a new internal codename, ‘Falcon 4’. The Falcon4 will be totally new car, and is expected to drop the Vista name, it has been designed by Tata’s European design studio and will be all new inside out. The 1.3-litre Fiat sourced turbo-diesel motor will be carried over in the new car albeit subtle modifications. A new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol is being developed to be used in the car as well.
We hope that Tata does get it right this time. Keep tuned in to Car Blog India for more news on the new Tata ‘Falcon 4’

The 2014 Tata Indica Vista is being spotted a lot of times lately, proof that Tata is intensifying its test program. The 2014 Tata Indica Vista will get a comprehensive makeover inside-out, the company also aims to improve the quality of materials on the car through its Horizonext program.
We think it is pretty clear how the front end of the 2014 Indica Vista will look like. A spy shot first posted on CarWale (via PowerDrift) showcased the new headlights that the 2014 Vista would get, then a photo posted on Motor Vikatan’s Facebook Page showcased the grille the car would get (it looks close to the one Tata showcased on the Manza Hybrid Concept showed at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo), the final product looks close to what a Team-BHP render shows it could be.
The Vista will get a comprehensive makeover a the rear, losing the tall lights characteristic of the Indica since it was first launched in 1998 which will be replaced by conventional looking tail-lamps. Spies also report that the interior of the car will get a makeover with a focus on improving the materials used and the reliability of those parts on the long run. Check out the slide show below.
What do you think of the 2014 Tata Indica Vista? What features should it have to be competitive in the market? Tell us in the comments section below.

Tata Motors has been trying hard to gain more market share in India but the same has not been possible because of lack of new launches by the country. It has been launching product refreshes for a while but none of its products have got themselves a major facelift. Its flagship hatchback, the 2014 Tata Vista has been caught on candid camera testing in Pune in its facelifted guise. The car has been covered pretty well by Tata and no matter how hard you try, it is difficult to make out as to what the next generation of the car would look like.
The tail lights are decoy elements which suggest towards the fact that the company might just alter their design. The number plate has been placed on the bootlid of the car instead of the bumper. This indicates that the car will be getting a heavy redesign at the rear as well. The car will get the same engines that power the current generation of the car. It will get a choice of two diesel motors and a petrol motor.
The diesel motors will be a 1.3 litre Fiat Multijet unit and a 1.4 litre BS3 TDI motor. The latter might get upgraded to a BS4 CR4 version which has been known for its fuel efficiency. If you the test mule closely, the headlights are somewhat similar to the current Vista but the grille might be redesigned.
The car’s facelifted version is expected to continue testing for a while with more details about the car coming in at later stages. The car is expected to launch at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo with a slight bump in price but with additions good enough to justify the price bump.
