Interestingly, this model at the Tokyo Auto Show even had hardware for ADAS like the 360-degree camera and radar. However, we are not certain if the India-bound model would feature the ADAS tech. Specs
The most interesting part of the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be what will power the successful hatchback. At the moment, it comes with a 1.2-litre K Series engine generating a decent 88 hp and 113 Nm of peak power and torque. The transmission duties are carried by either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. However, the new Swift could carry a new Z Series engine. That will be fundamentally different from the K Series engines which we have come to appreciate for years now.

This engine will have a 1.2-litre setup but with 3 cylinders instead of 4 in the current model. The model which was displayed at the Tokyo Auto Show had a hybrid version of this engine. It makes almost similar power as the 4-cylinder engine but the torque output is significantly higher. It will ensure that there is more oomph to the driving experience, particularly at low engine RPMs. What is of even more significance is the fact that the mileage figures could be around 30-35 km/l. That is almost unheard of.

However, due to the price constraints, it is possible that Maruti Suzuki decides to skip the hybrid technology for the Indian iteration. Still, the new mill could be slightly more driving-friendly and fuel-efficient. That will be a critical aspect to woo more new customers. At the moment, the prices of the Swift range from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.03 lakh, ex-showroom. The new model would certainly bear a slight premium over these prices.
