Mahindra Thar Drifting Hits Tree

In this latest post, a Mahindra Thar owner tries drifting the off-roading SUV and ends up hitting a tree. It is fascinating to see what Thar owners put their SUVs through. It is one of the most highly successful off-road vehicles in the nation, and the latest iteration is witnessing an exceptional spike in demand. In certain cities, prospective purchasers are encountering waiting periods of more than a year for particular models. The Thar has continually been the preferred choice for off-road enthusiasts, upholding a solid position in the market for an extended period. Nevertheless, the arrival of the new 5-door Maruti Jimny has introduced a formidable competitor. Nevertheless, the Tharโ€™s popularity remains unwavering. Here are the particulars of this recent case.

Mahindra Thar Drifting Hits Tree

This post comes from classywheelss on Instagram. The visuals showcase a rather hilarious scene. The Mahindra Thar is put through some hardcore drifting. Now, Thar is not a car you would find in such a scenario. People drift mostly in sporty cars with great driving abilities like hot hatchbacks or sedans. But this man decided to break that stereotype and do it with the Thar. However, the SUV barely lends itself well to such activities. While the man manages to do it for some time, he, eventually, ends up losing control and colliding with a tree. The extent of damage to the vehicle is not clear.

Specs

The Mahindra Thar offers a choice between two engine options โ€“ a 2.2-litre turbo diesel and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol. These engines deliver impressive power and torque, with the diesel engine producing 130 hp and 320 Nm, and the petrol engine delivering 150 hp and 320 Nm. Buyers have the flexibility to choose between manual and automatic transmissions. The SUV comes with a dedicated 4ร—4 drivetrain, ensuring its ability to handle various terrains. For the rear-wheel-drive model, there is a 1.5-litre diesel engine that generates 120 PS and 300 Nm. The pricing for the Mahindra Thar starts at Rs 10.98 lakh for the rear-wheel-drive variant and goes up to Rs 16.94 lakh, ex-showroom, for the top-of-the-line 4ร—4 model.

What We Think

Now, we would never recommend anyone abusing the Thar in this manner. Sure, it is a hardcore off-roader. But that doesnโ€™t warrant anyone to perform such stunts. Most people think that if they are in a Thar, they are free to do just about anything. That is a stupid idea. The SUV is capable of taking the passengers to some remote parts of the country. But that doesnโ€™t mean that you could mistreat it without any reason. We advise our readers to stay away from such activities if you wish to keep your healthy and vehicle safe. Donโ€™t mimic everything you see on the internet.
