In the constantly evolving micro SUV landscape, Tata Motors is preparing to me up with a mid-life makeover for the Punch. The only micro-SUV from Tata Motors has been a popular choice. However, thanks to the advent of the Hyundai Exter and the Maruti Fronx, it requires a facelift to stay unfazed. It has long been anticipated to even receive an EV variant. Recent sightings of the upcoming model in spy photos suggest that the facelift could approach its debut. Here are a couple of renderings that visualise the new model with Nexon-like styling.

Tata Punch Facelift with New Nexon-Like Styling
The front end of the Tata Punch facelift could draw significant design inspiration from the new Nexon. Despite being under a heavy camouflage, the test mules indicate that the fascia would resemble the sub-compact SUV. This alignment with the Nexon’s design not only ensures continuity and a common design language within Tata Motors’ SUV lineup but also modernises the Punch. However, while the front fascia embraces the Nexon’s styling language in the renderings, the remaining exterior design remains the same. The exterior updates extend to new alloy wheels. The upcoming EV version will feature additional badges and, perhaps, new paint schemes.
The interior of the Tata Punch facelift will likely feature the same 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system found in the Nexon. This new infotainment system is poised to offer a better user experience and provide access to a wide array of features. However, specific details regarding this system for the micro-SUV are yet to known. Furthermore, it remains uncertain whether the touchscreen in the Punch facelift will resemble the one in the Creative variant of the Nexon facelift or the version with thinner bezels seen in the Fearless variant.

EV Powertrain a Mystery
While the Tata Punch facelift will retain the current car’s 1.2-litre three-cylinder motor, the EV’s powertrain details are unknown as of now. Nevertheless, there is a considerable probability that the Punch EV will employ Tata Motors’ proven Ziptron technology. This technology, previously featured in the Tata Tiago EV and Nexon EV, is renowned for its remarkable performance and range, rendering it a logical choice for the Punch EV.
What We Think?
With the increasing frequency of test mule sightings, it’s reasonable to anticipate the imminent arrival of the Tata Punch facelift. There are speculations that it might hit the market before the year concludes. Also, there are chances of the EV version launching alongside the ICE variant. This will be in line with Tata Motors’ dedication to broadening its EV portfolio. The new electric car will will become a direct competitor of the Citroen e-C3.
