Engine and Transmission
The Vespa VX doesn’t receive any changes to any of the mechanical bits. It continues to be powered by a 125cc, 9.92 BHP, 10.6 Nm motor, which transmits power via a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). The fuel tank capacity is 7 litres, this along with a claimed efficiency figure of 60 KMPL gives the Vespa a range of about 400 KM.
Handling
The Vespa VX gets the same monocoque steel body as the LX, which ensures better body control and longevity. This coupled to Piaggio’s aircraft inspired single side arm hydraulic suspension, dual-effect hydraulic shocks at the rear, and a link spring mechanism between the engine and the frame provides for very good low-speed characteristics along with high-speed stability.
