Royal Enfield is all set to launch the Himalayan 450 in the Indian market. Recently, the company CEO himself drove one of the first units to the Umling La Pass – the highest motorable pass in the world. Recently, the Chennai-based bike maker announced the commencement of “The Final Test.” They also announced a plan to drive a Himalayan 450 from Chennai to Umling La Pass. The company CEO, B. Govindarajan was accompanied by new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Adventure motorcycles. The whole trip was captured on video.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Reaches Umling La Pass
As you can see in the above YouTube video by Royal Enfield, the team of brave bikers travelled through the deserted mountain roads to reach the Umling La Pass. The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is quite prominent in the highlight reel. Mr B. Govindarajan also provides a voiceover which states that the team started the final test from the Royal Enfield factory in Oragadam, Chennai, which is at an elevation of 22 feet. They travelled for over 5,000 km to reach the Umling La Pass (with an elevation of 19,024 feet). The video also announced the launch location coordinates and date
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will be launched in India on 7th November 2023. The all-new adventure motorcycle comes with several changes including an all-new steel trellis frame. The test mules hint at multiple structure and design changes. It will feature a single circular digital LCD display, an updated indicator design, revamped switchgear, and Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, the new bike will feature a USD fork suspension setup at the front and a mono-shock in the back. The larger 320mm front disc will come with dual-channel ABS. Also, the headlight features an LED setup on the inside.

The Himalayan 450 is the first-ever Royal Enfield motorcycle to get a liquid-cooled engine (completely built by the Chennai-based bike maker). It is powered by a new 450cc single-cylinder engine that is said to offer around 40 bhp of peak power and 45 Nm of max torque. For transmission, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is likely to get a six-speed gearbox. The much-awaited motorbike is expected to be priced around Rs 2.80 – 3.10 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It will compete with the likes of KTM 390 Adventure and the upcoming Hero XPulse 400.
