The Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 India Limited Edition has been launched in India in lieu of the ongoing 50th
anniversary celebrations of the brand worldwide. Only six units of the car will be available, talk about exclusivity!
Lamborghini started the year in India with a bang, launching the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster, and there is no let up in the demand for it’s cars here. The exclusive Gallardo will surely increase the brand’s desirability even more.
Price
Only 6 exclusive right hand drive models available at a price of Rs. 3.06 crore (ex-showroom Maharashtra)

Details
If you are a sports car enthusiast you’d know that for a car to be called a real sports car, it should be rear-wheel driven. And joy of joys, Lamborghini has used the rear-wheel driven LP550-2 (the 2 suffix stand for two wheel drive, obviously the rear wheels) as the base for this special edition. We are happy to hear that! But apart from some exclusive paint options and interior trim, no changes have been made mechanically….we are not complaining.
Paint
The Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 India Limited Edition gets three paint options:
- Arancio Borealis (Pearl Orange)
- Bianco Monocerus (White)
- Verde Ithaca (Pearl Green)
These three colours have been exclusively chosen as a dedication to the tri-coloured Indian national flag.
Exterior
The limited edition sports cars gets tricolour stripes that run from the bonnet onto the roof and to the rear engine cover, another tribute to the Indian flag. ‘India Serie Speciale’ plates near the driver’s side quarter glass drive home the fact that this is no ordinary Gallardo. Apart from these details, the car gets no other changes on the outside. The design features of the second generation Gallardo remain, such as the large cooling intakes at the front, the spoiler in between the air intakes, Y-shaped daytime running light integrated Bi-Xenon lamps, Y -shaped LED stop lamps etc.
Interior
The Gallardo LP550-2 India Edition gets an all black interior with unique stitching complementing the India theme found on the outisde. The driver’s seat will feature Verde Ulysse (Green) stitching, the passenger seat will get Arancio Leonis (Orange) stitching while the stitching on doors, center console and dash board will be in Bianco Polar (White). The rest of the interior remains the same, with two sports seats, a huge center console with Lamborghini’s multimedia system, air vents, control buttons etc.
Engine and Transmission
The India Special Edition gets the same unit as the normal Gallardo, a screaming 5.2 litre V10, 550 BHP, petrol motor which transmits the power to the rear wheels through a six-speed dual clutch transmission. The engine sits behind the passenger cabin in front of the rear-axle, the Gallardo weighs 1,380 kilograms and the V10 takes the car from 0 to 100 KMPH in 3.9 seconds, the car can hit a top speed of 320 KMPH (if the driver has the courage to).
