The introduction of the new Tata Nexon has surely pushed the rivals out of the limelight. However, the sub-compact SUV is in store for some more action. Soon, we’ll have the facelift of the XUV300 hit the market. However, the new car onslaught would be far from over. Kia has been busy giving the Sonet its mid-cycle makeover. While we’ve already seen a handful of spy images of camouflaged test mules, the latest batch of pictures reveal the exterior of the China-spec Sonet in totality. There are chances the India-spec model would look different but the updated styling package of the Chinese model certainly drops a few hints at the kind of changes that are in store.
China-spec 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Gets a Sleeker Fascia and More!
These images are courtesy Autohome, a leading Chinese automotive website. The pictures provide a clear look at the updated Sonet. The front grille seems to mirror the one on the current model, but there are many notable changes. The biggest of these is the new headlamp cluster. The DRLs now extend vertically, creating an inverted L-shaped pattern. Also, blacked-out element around the DRL make the setup look bolder. The side profile remains largely similar, with a new alloy wheel design being the only alteration. At the rear, we observe a new connected tail light design, giving the Sonet a Seltos-like posterior. While these changes are not extensive as the ones given to the Nexon, they surely help the sub-4-metre SUV look fresher. We feel that these updates work together pretty well to lend a dose of modernity to the smallest Kia offering.

Other Changes
The spy shots don’t provide a glimpse of the interior. However, we expect a familiar dashboard layout. Additionally, the new 2024 Kia Sonet might feature updated upholstery. When it comes to new features, potential additions could be a cooled glovebox, a 360-degree camera, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, and a heads-up display. It’s also possible that the Sonet facelift will come equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). In terms of specifications, we can anticipate the Sonet facelift to maintain its current engine lineup. This includes the 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol, the 1.0-liter turbo petrol, and the 1.5-liter diesel powertrains.

New Kia Sonet Launch Date
The leaked images indicate that the 2024 Kia Sonet facelift is prepared for production, hinting at an imminent launch in China. Meanwhile, Kia India is likely to introduce the Sonet facelift here by the end of this year. As for pricing, the current Sonet’s range starts from Rs 9.13 lakh and goes up to Rs 17.87 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With the facelift, we can anticipate a price increase in the range of Rs 60,000 to Rs 70,000.
