The 2013 Honda Dream Yuga has been launched in India. First launched during the 2012 Auto Expo, the Dream Yuga has taken the 100cc segment by storm. According to Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, more than 3 Lakh units of the Dream Yuga have been sold within the first year of its launch, and to keep this momentum going the company has given it an update.
Updates to the bike for the 2013 model year are limited to the new ‘Honda Eco Technology’/HET equipped 110cc engine, which is more fuel efficient and smoother than the previous one.
Price
The 2013 Honda Dream Yuga is priced from Rs. 45101 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The price has not been changed, it has remained the same in spite of the addition of the new engine.
What’s New?
The 2013 Honda Dream Yuga gets a revised engine with Honda’s new ‘Honda Eco Technology’/HET. No power or torque figures have been released, but we expect it to remain the same as before (8.1 BHP and 8.91 Nm of torque). The transmission remains the same, a four-speed, all-up pattern, constant mesh with a multi-plate clutch transmitting the power to the rear wheel via chain.
The HET engine’s biggest advantage is in the fact that it is more fuel efficient, at 74 KMPL as compared to 72 KMPL before. These figures have been provided by Honda, and according to them is based on internal test ride mode that is close to actual city riding conditions. Real-world figures may vary.
There is nothing else that is new on the bike.
The other features (which are not new) are as follows:
- Kerb Weight of 108 Kg.
- Length of 2022 mm, width of 733mm, height of 1095 mm, wheelbase of 1285mm and ground clearance of 161 mm.
- It has a diamond type chassis with telescopic front suspension and tubular type suspension at the rear.
- Tubeless tyres are optional, the tyre size is 80/100-18 47P and 80/100-18 54P at front and rear respectively
- Multi-reflector headlamps
- Telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at front and coil spring suspension at the rear.
- Drum brakes at both front and rear.
