Renault has extended the diesel lineup of the Scala with the launch of the Renault Scala RxE variant in India.
The Renault Scala RxE diesel is priced at Rs. 8.29 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The other variants of the Scala diesel include the Scala RxL diesel (Rs. 8.79 Lakh) and the Scala RxZ diesel (Rs. 9.68 Lakh)
If you are familiar with the variant nomenclature used by Renault, you would know that the RxE tag is given to the entry level variant of its cars. But as with any other Renault car, the Scala RxE comes pretty well loaded.

The features in the Renault Scala RxE diesel will mirror that of its petrol cousin.
On the outside:
- Dual tone bumpers
- Body coloured ORVMs
- Full wheel covers
- Chrome embossed garnish on the boot
Inside:
- Tilt-adjustable steering
- Manual A/C
- Rear A/C vents
- Integrated audio system with CD/MP3/AUX capability connected to 4 speakers
Safety features will include:
- Front driver’s side airbag
- ABS+EBD with brake assist
- Engine immobiliser
- Anti theft system
Engine and transmission will remain similar to the other diesel models. The Scala RxE will be powered by the Renault K9K, 1.5 litre, 85 BHP, 200 Nm engine, which will be mated to a 5-speed transmission found on other variants in the Scala range.
