We might soon experience ADAS in the Maruti Grand Vitara. It is the quickest-selling SUV in its category to reach 1 lakh sales within its inaugural year in the local market. Since its debut, this 5-seater SUV has been mega-popular among consumers, consistently ranking among the top three in monthly sales. Maruti Suzuki credits this accomplishment to the robust hybrid and AWD versions, particularly highlighting the strong hybrid models with e-CVT transmissions, delivering impressive fuel efficiency. What We Think
We are huge proponents of making cars safer. We lose lakhs of lives in road accidents each year in India. Most of these could easily have been avoided with proper active safety amenities in cars. Having said that, we also understand that the infrastructure for the appropriate functioning of ADAS might not be widespread in our country. This includes proper lane markings and traffic signs. On top of that, there are also concerns regarding people misusing these features. In any case, we shall welcome the addition of ADAS in more cars.
