The latest sales details reveal that the Korean auto giant was able to sell an impressive 8,647 units of the Exter. This is significantly higher than the 7,430 units it sold in August 2023. Interestingly, for the month of September 2023, Hyundai sold 5,223 units of the Grand i10 Nios, 6,481 units of the i20 premium hatchback and 3,900 units of the Aura/Xcent. This is a testament to the popularity of the micro SUV/ crossover hatchback in our market. Its premium features, standard safety equipment and smooth transmissions are some of the reasons for its overwhelming success.

The Hyundai Exter offers a choice between two different engines: a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.2-litre bi-fuel engine capable of running on either petrol or CNG. The petrol engine delivers a power output of 83 hp and a peak torque of 113.8 Nm. In contrast, the bi-fuel engine has slightly lower specifications, producing 69 hp and 95.2 Nm of power and torque. Buyers of the petrol engine variant have the option of pairing it with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT gearbox, providing them with choices to suit their preferences. Meanwhile, the bi-fuel engine is exclusively available with a manual gearbox. The Exter’s price range starts from Rs 6 lakh and goes up to Rs 10 lakh, excluding showroom charges.
