Citroen is on a roll with its SUVs in our market and the C3 Aircoss is the latest popular addition to its Indian portfolio.
Interestingly, the new Citroen C3 Aircross sells more than the C5 Aircross, C3 and e-C3 put together. At present, the French automaker exclusively offers SUV models in the Indian market. These comprise the C5 Aircross, a premium SUV, the C3, a compact SUV, the e-C3, an electric SUV, and the C3 Aircross. Notably, the C3 Aircross competes directly with the Hyundai Creta in the mid-size SUV category. What sets it apart is its relatively lower pricing compared to its competitors, which has attracted a substantial influx of new buyers. This trend is evident in the robust sales figures it has achieved. While it may not have achieved blockbuster sales in its segment, the C3 Aircross has certainly emerged as the most successful product for the French automaker in the Indian market thus far.

What We Think
The mid-size SUV segment is among the fastest-growing categories in the country in the last few years. Products like the mighty Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara are the dominant players in this space. As a result, the French carmaker also decided to grab a bite of this pie. Citroen has 4 SUVs on offer in our market at the moment. This represents that it believes in the narrative of the popularity and trend of SUVs. We shall keep an eye out for how things turn out for Citroen going forward.
