As per the monthly sales data, Maruti Suzuki sold 1,58,832 units in September 2023. This corresponds to a 3.9 percent growth on YoY basis
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), the country’s largest car manufacturer, recorded a total sales figure of 181,343 units in September 2023. This represents a 3.9 percent increase compared to the 176,306 units sold in the corresponding period of the previous year. In September this year, MSI’s domestic sales amounted to 158,832 units, reflecting a 2.5 percent growth compared to the 154,903 units sold during the same period last year.

Decline in Cumulative Sale of Maruti Suzuki Alto and S-Presso
In the same timeframe, MSI exported 22,511 vehicles, compared to 21,403 units in September 2022. Looking at the cumulative sales for the April-September 2023 period, Maruti Suzuki achieved a milestone by selling 1,050,085 units, marking the first time the company has exceeded the one million unit mark in half-yearly sales, according to a company statement. Throughout April-September this year, domestic sales accounted for 888,603 units, surpassing the 814,509 units sold in the same period last year. Meanwhile, exports during April-September 2023 totaled 132,542 units, in comparison to 132,632 units in the corresponding period last year.
In the mini and compact segments, top-selling models of Maruti Suzuki in September 2023 included the Maruti Suzuki Alto, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, and Maruti Suzuki Swift. Alto and S-Presso together achieved total sales of 10,351 units during the month, a decrease from the 29,574 units sold in the same period last year. From Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki Invicto, Maruti Suzuki Jimny, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, and Maruti Suzuki XL6, a total of 59,271 units were sold in September 2023. Additionally, the Maruti Suzuki Eeco achieved sales of 11,147 units during the same period.

Over 300,000 Utility Vehicles Sold from April to September 2023
Maruti Suzuki’s compact car portfolio includes models like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki Tour S, and Maruti Suzuki WagonR, which achieved a total of 68,552 unit sales in the previous month. Additionally, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz recorded sales of 1,491 units during the same period. The Super Carry LCV by the automaker also contributed to sales with a total of 2,294 units sold in September this year.
From April to September 2023, the automaker’s mini and compact segment offerings saw sales figures of 72,550 units and 4,18,930 units, respectively. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz achieved sales of 7,441 units during this period. In the utility vehicles segment, the carmaker reported sales of 3,06,467 units in the same timeframe. Furthermore, the Maruti Suzuki Eeco and Maruti Suzuki Super Carry recorded sales of 67,719 units and 15,496 units, respectively, during this period.
