The latter mentions that there are distinct differences between the two sedans even though they belong to the same segment. To begin with, he mentions that the interior of the Verna is quite decent. Some aspects and features are even better than Slavia. This includes the intuitive touchscreen infotainment system, soft-touch materials of the dashboard, quality of materials, fit and finish, etc. It also gets ADAS and heated seats which are not there in the Slavia. Hence, the Verna has a slight edge.

Driving Impressions
The Slavia owner has been driving Skoda products for years. Hence, he loves the way the driving dynamics of the Slavia feel. This includes steering feedback, body roll, stiff suspension setup and more. All these boost confidence while driving at high speed. He feels that the Slavia is still slightly better in terms of driving and mileage. Hence, he would still opt for the Slavia.

The latest Verna introduces a fresh 1.5-litre GDi (Gasoline Direct Injection) turbo petrol engine, delivering an impressive 160 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque, setting a new standard in its class. This potent engine can be coupled with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a sporty 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox, promising an exciting driving experience. Additionally, it still provides the well-known 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that has proven its reliability over the years. It retails between Rs 10.96 lakh and Rs 17.38 lakh, ex-showroom.

On the other hand, the Skoda Slavia offers a choice between two engines – a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre EVO turbo petrol. These engines deliver respectable peak power and torque figures – 115 hp and 178 Nm for the smaller engine, and 150 hp and 250 Nm for the larger one. The first engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission, while the second engine provides options for either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG (DCT) automatic transmission. The Slavia is priced in the range of Rs 11.39 lakh to Rs 18.58 lakh, ex-showroom.
